Google suggests searches like "gaji jepang berapa rupiah" and "japan salary in indian rupees": people want to know what a Japanese salary is worth at home. Until today the net salary calculator on Japan Life Hub answered only in yen.
Take-home pay in your currency
Under the take-home pay there is now a second line with the same amount in another currency. On the Indonesian page, ¥348,764 a month shows as ≈ Rp 39.100.000. The list next to it has 26 currencies. The page's language picks the first one: rupiah in Indonesian, dong in Vietnamese, rupees in Hindi, yuan in Chinese, roubles in Russian. On the English and Japanese pages your browser's languages decide, so a browser set to English (India) gets rupees, and the dollar is the default.

Salary pages and the budget
Each page for a fixed salary, such as ¥300,000 a month, now has a card with the salary, the take-home in the first year and from the second, and the year's take-home, all in that currency. The monthly budget shows its total converted as well.

Where the rates come from
The rates are the Ministry of Finance's for October 2026, published by the Bank of Japan on 18 September: one US dollar is ¥159. A bank or a money transfer service converts at its own rate, and the page says that under each amount.
